A fake tuxedo

A fake tuxedo
Waddling back and forth amongst the ice
Back and forth, back and forth
Paddling on through the cold
The black fresh against the purest white
A vision imprinted in your mind –
as surely as the negative of a new arrival
Stretching the imagination once more –
to the sight of such a creature
Embraced in its own ice river world
Strangely displaced for the few who care –
the few who strive to see and know this being –
to become the being in all its glory.

They are so admirable and adaptive. This poem is also quite admirable in its accurate description.

Funny, aren't they. I've only seen them behind glass in a zoo, but I'm told some species have feathers?
Good poem...you are observing.
