That was yesterday

It was yesterday
That you told me goodbye
I missed you all night
This morning I remembered
Why it was you left
And suddenly
I was okay, you’re gone, my life is mine
Again
It was yesterday
Today is another story
Another beginning
A new start
The first day of the rest of my…
You get the picture
Today, you are gone and I’m free
I can sleep late
Ignore the laundry, forget the dishes
Shop in the middle of the night
I can talk all night on the phone
I can visit my mother
Any time I want
I can play country western music
I can go line dancing if I want to
I can….I can…I can
You left
but
That was yesterday
Today
Is another story
And I can write it myself

"That was yesterday" is a poem of the decider. It said it all. The message is strong. I liked this poem. I enjoyed reading it.

I Salute the Author of "That was yesterday".

Oh, this was so honest, and sad in a way, I have felt this feeling once, it felt good, yet...not.

Really struck home with me,
loved it!

i'm not making light of ending relationships, this was actually meant to lighten things up, it was written kinda tongue in cheek
