The time has come
To look back on my life
It is hard not to doubt
The choices made
What if I had?
Or if I had known
But then I realize
Who I am today
Is the choices I had made
If I had chosen different
Would I be who I am?
If I had traveled the road not taken
Where would I be?
Is there such thing?
As destiny
Is there a master plan?
That was decided before I was born
Or am I the result
Of me

Ah Tom, I love the question you ask here, I believe it is a mixture of both, we make the choices that decides our fate,

Excellent poem!

I really like this! "So, then it is not destiny that makes us who we are, but rather our choices." - Professor Dumbledore from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It is one of the last lines of the movie and my favorite quote ever since my husband and I took our daughter to see the movie. This poem says exactly what I, and professor Dumbledore, believe. Great job! (((HUGS)))

Bert, I loved this poem for three reasons, 1) it's excellent, 2) we all need to remember we are who we are because of our past, and 3) when I was asked if I'd do it all again, I said yes and wouldn't change a thing just so I could have my kids, and the me I am today. Great write, good questions, wonderful conclusions.

Hey, this is really good. Just remember this, every path you take is reflected on everything and everyone else. So not only did your choices make you, but they also made everyone else what they are.

I somehow think it is a little of both .. fate destiny.. with many roads we can take.. but will end up wherever we belong.. This makes one think. That is poetry. Good write
