Finally she finds, her mind's desire,
rabid and clean, she's filled with fire,
no soul-less toil, factories death,
it's clear to source of first full breath,
the gift of sight, her world's delight,
is linking words of daily plight.

And she smiles.

At last the force, 'twixt mind and hand,
which painting foiled and drawing banned,
shoots forth in peals of joyful mirth,
it feels unearthly to fully give birth,
to wings of fur and word's huge girth,
ah, but
there is no measure
to artist's worth...

I've always wanted to be able to draw, or paint, to create "pictures", this early piece is singing my joy that I found the "force" in poetry. I had been looking for it for 43 years...

There were two things I always wanted to do in life, draw and sing. I can't draw a straight line using a ruler as a guide, and I can't sing to save my life, but I have poetry that sings and paints beautiful pictures, and have and gave birth to an artist and two musical kids. I, like you, have found my songs and they are more beautiful than I ever imagined. So paint us all your pictures from your soul and will will see them in our minds and hearts, dear poet.

"First Breath" is what it takes to feel poetry in. After that one is born.

The poem, "First Breath" is coming from a long way. It is what the heart makes in form with words of experience. I have enjoyed it.

I Salute the Author.

You do create pictures and feelings
All those years you wished you could create pictures was just your spirit..
screaming to write..
You just didn't know it..
Poetry is your art.
Loved this..
