clumsy
that's me all over
i can trip
over something
like a dip in the ground
or over absolutely
nothing at all
when i least expect it
i'll trip
*twinkletoes*
landing in an embarrassed
heap
feeling my cheeks turn redder
than red
especially if someone
sees me fall
*how embarrassing*
you never see anyone
get up
so fast in your life
*did someone see that*
are you all right
*whaddaya think??*
like today
at work
i tripped and fell
TWICE
stupid slick floor
shoes are *supposed* to be
non skid
the company that made these
non skid shoes
lied
'cause i sliiiid
non skid my foot
busted my yo-yo
*that's gonna leave a mark*
once i fell under a bus
really
i was catching a bus
in an ice storm
a trip that normally took
twenty minutes
took over an hour and a half
sliiiiiiding all over
the road
*thought we were gonna buy it*
when the driver got to my
stop
i asked him to please wait
until i got off
up onto the sidewalk before
he drove away
the cane i was using
slipped
*twinkletoes*
right under the bus
whaddaya doin' under there
the bus driver asked
whaddaya think i'm doin'
checkin' your brakes
like i said i can
trip
over nothin' at all
danged nerve damage
sometimes causes my foot to drag
unexpectedly
i call it "hooking my foot"
there i'll be
goin' along at a good clip
suddenly
*twinkletoes*

Well now, what great humour you have. Glad you can laugh at yourself. Keep laughing, it is the only way through this life we have been given. Great job on this write. I had a good laugh. Be careful and watch out for the buses.

Karla, being a person who is so graceful I can trip over the painted line on a basketball court, I know where you're coming from. That's why I never even considered naming my daughter GRACE. Love the poem, my cane is purple, what color is yours?

Love the way you turned it all around and used it for a write to make the reader smile and understand, too. Now...that takes real talent and heart!!

Be careful now.
Funny how we look around to see
if anyone seen us fall?
Oh yes, I have tripped before...
