Ode to a brilliant mind I know...

I wonder what’s inside you…
What you’re thinking
Who you are.
Sometimes I can’t stop staring.
It’s amazing
That I hardly know you
Yet you touch me in a way
Only the ones inside my walls can.
You have beauty.
I see it
Shining through.
It’s tragic that I can’t see it
Every day.
You give me a fresh breath
When the air is heavy
And the sky is gray,
I know these are things
I could – should never – tell you,
But if only the world could see
What I see in you
They would be in awe
And hang on your every word.
You shape so many minds
And touch so many lives,
But I will always wonder
What it would be like
If I ever actually became a part
Of you.

Thanks for your review. That was kind of you.
I have been called a mentor by several people that I made a difference in their lives and it makes me feel very humble as I am sure your poem makes your mentor feel.
I am also sure your words will linger in his or her mind for a long time, because your words carry a lot of feelings.
Good work.
Blessings,
Judith

Rachel, you know it is strange, but you never know ... getting what you wish for could change your fantasy to reality and change reality to despair or happiness. Life and love is a gamble. Remember that.
