Say prayers for America, get down on your knees,
Turn now from your wanderings, turn off your TV's,
Open up your Bibles, see what's written there,
Then lift up America in fervent holy prayer.

Say prayers for our President each and every day,
Pray God gives him wisdom as he goes on his way;
Ask the Lord to guide him, to show him what to do,
Pray that God upholds him and grants him strength anew.

Say prayers for each other, that each will seek God's face,
Then God, in His mercy, will grant our nation grace;
When we leave our evil, repent our wicked ways,
God will heal America, if every Christian prays.

"If My people,
which are called by My Name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek My face,
and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from Heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land."
(II Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

Oh, what a wonderful world this could be if people spent even half as much time studying their Bible as they do watching T.V. and Yes, sincere prayer does work great changes.

Well, I work with all faiths, so being Christian doesn't exclude anyone from a deep seated prayer in their faith. I sure like your quote 'I came not to send peace, but a sword'. I went to a convent school and remember this one well. Good answer.

Yes, Karla ~ prayers for your father Don Vidra. May the Lord bring him a quick and complete healing!
And Tony...II Chronicles is in the Old Testament. But Matthew 10:34 is in the New Testament, where a non-violent Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword."
