For Carol H.

It seems
in your case
you need to be
unhappy
to be happy
she said.
Talk about
hitting the nail!
How much is true ,
however? How
much happiness
is available for a
person? Maugham
wrote a story about
two men--one a
musician and the
other, a sanatorium
mate of sorts, whose
alleged unhappiness
brought about his
happiness. Until the
musician died. Then
there was no unhappi-
ness to bring happiness
to the survivor. All
there was then was
unhappiness and more
unhappiness. Sad, yes,
but true . Just think,
one's need to be unhappy
in order to be happy!
Are you:
a) happy unhappy
b) unhappy happy
c) unhappy unhappy
or
d) happy happy?
