April's Fools
way to cools
can't figger out
love's crazy rules

love's a game
it's a shame
it's all the same
run the race
& came up lame

lost our hearts
our soulful parts
played the game
weren't too smarts

so Today's our day
our Holiday
rememberin' true love's ways
what love will come
will come what May

our holiday
April's Fools
golden rules
& way too cools
learned ta' play
the hard way
not much left ta' say

hearts were broken
words went unspoken
left us nuthin'
but a token

a memory
of how love be
hoped at least
we learned to see
love ain't no cup a' tea

April First
love's sweet thirst
hearts that burst
& love was cursed

so if ya' be
an April's Fool
learn the rule
love is cruel
