My Truth

I’m tougher than nails
Ask anyone I know
They’ll all tell you the same thing
There’s nothing I can’t do
No mountain I can’t go over
No crisis I can’t overcome
One of the strongest people they know
But do you know what I really want?
I would like to be held
Have a man’s shoulder to cry on
Be rocked in his arms
Do you know what I really want?
I’d like to be taken care of
Treasured and protected
Loved, respected, and nurtured
But, hey,
There’s a lot to be said for strength
Pure endurance under fire
Keeping my power intact
Even while being repeatedly attacked
But yet,
Do you know what I really want?
I would like to cry
And not be called weak
Be lifted by two stronger arms
Carried to a safe place
Then sleep in the protection of his embrace
Do I want too much?

Delicious contrast of images. Deeply felt, beautifully executed. Thanks, Tracy.

Tracy, this is such a gem you have written.
I will cry for you if I have to Lady. I'll soft and I don't care what I am called. You opemed up your heart to us in this. We will be careful with it. Here my shoulders.
Let the teardrops fall. Bill

Sigh...don't we all want something like this? Great job, Tracy!

Nope...and it's a nice place to be.
Well done...
