Summer vacation out in the sea
Cruising the Gulf on the Jubilee.
My daughter insists that we’ve got to work out
So we’ll be in shape while we’re floating about.
“It’ll be worth it, you’ll look FINE
You work yours and I’ll work mine.
Do your breathing, feet off the floor
Work those abs - just 5 minutes more."
Push ups, sit ups, fun it ain’t
Let me go home, I’m gonna faint.
This will be fun, I’ll be glad that I tried
I’ll conquer that bike tho’ I’ll think that I’ve died.
I need more water, please let me rest
I’m feeling this pounding deep in my chest.
But, for the trip I’ll continue to train
I’ll try to endure my aches and my pains.
And the lesson I’ll learn, and you know that it’s true
This hype about exercise - it’s all bad for you!

I've been there before, but you say it all so well. Very good...and ditto on the frogs-cute!

Barbara, enjoyed your poem. Very funny stuff. I know what you mean. We stretch and strain muscles we never knew we had. That is the price we pay for keeping all the ( oids ) of our body in shape.

Barbara, thanks for the laugh, but don't give no matter what you do. Be here tomorrow and then I can come back and laugh some more. Bill

Thanks for the chuckle, Barbara.
I just started a new exercise program. I now try to sit upright while I watch TV. It's tough, but I'm hanging in there!

In 4 weeks you will be in such good shape you won't believe it. Of course, during those four weeks you will think you are dying. [grin] Well done.
