Waltzing in the Moonlight

This is the poem for Sanil Nath's Callenge

Here I am alone
Sitting here wearing perfectly fitted black double-breasted tuxedo
Sipping on Courvoisier
While weaving my eyes through countless couples
Waltzing on the dance floor

Through my endless boredom, I noticed the pure elegance of the ballroom
As I saw brightly colored walls in the shape of an octagon
With Persian rugs surrounding the dance floor
While the glass dome allowed the moon to illuminate the room

Then….out of nowhere
She came in
The moon shined on her like a spotlight on a celebrity
As she walked to the bar like a model showcasing the newest style

What a sight for sore eyes
Imagine my surprise
I’m looking like a dog that just finished playing for two hours
I just seen the most beautiful woman ever

I walked up to her and asked
Would you like a drink?
She said, “No I’d like to dance”
Our Waltz in the moonlight was me and my wife’s first dance
Oh…what a memory.
