A poem about unrequited love.

I wrote you a love poem -
But I was afraid to send it
I bought you a wild rose -
But I was afraid to give it

And no one knew of my love,
Except the night of a thousand stars
That looked and laughed and sang,
But I was afraid to listen

Afraid you would not accept
My humble offerings -
Then time ravaged my body
And you were gone

But then I heard from a friend
Who knew you, he said
That you had loved me too,
And that you were afraid to speak

So you waited and waited and waited
Till the lonely sea,
Had swallowed up our names

This is a sweet and romantic poem. Just remember, that life is precious, and every moment counts. Do not let fear prevent you from expressing your interest or love for another person. It is painful and lonely when we have a heart full of love for another person, but we do not tell anyone about it at first. Do not let fear prevent you from loving. I remember waiting for someone that I truly loved and adored, but as time passed, I had lost my opportunity. Once again, you have captured my attention and my heart with your beautiful words!! You are inspiring to me!

Amazingly good poem!
Sad in its message, yet elegant in its presentation ...
Very well written!

Poignant and sad. Too bad. I hope it's not autobiographical.

Lovely and very sad, I hope that it never happens to any of us, again.

I really liked this. Well put truth, a warning to us all that fear kills lives. Thank you for this.
