Sometimes relationships fail to run smoothly.

You distanced me
when you punched and kicked
played your hurtful games
but then we knew kids soon forget
revert to dolls and trains

You distance me
when you shout abuse
close your mind and ears
but then you know I will forgive
while fighting back the tears

You distance me
when you are right
and I am always wrong
but then you know I will back down
my constant love is strong

You've distanced me
while swept along
life's swift receeding tide
and should we fail to rest in peace
at least I know I tried.

I have always wanted a brother or sister to share my life with and you're poem shows me that even in the worst of times, that connection is stronger then life itself. I applaud you for trying to keep it intact. Wonderful write.

Oh my God, this reminds me of my distance and pain between my brother and me..It made me think though, that we are seperate souls with a mission..It's almost as if you were living in my house..Wow...Thank you and thank you for your review of my work..God bless..
