* This was written for my lovely friend, Jimmy Mills...You make me smile, and give me courage to face each new day! *
My cyber friend and I,
We play this little game,
“Tell me something good”, he says,
(But I’m so down today…)
I rack my brain,
Feel like I’m going insane,
I’m not allowed to say
So I tell him,
My cat ran away…”
He signs and types,
“How is that good?
You’re not playing fair!”
But I tell him “Oh yes I am,
He was always leaving hair,
Hair on the couch,
Hair on my pillow,
Hair on the table,
Though he knows better
Than to jump there!
My dear friend laughs at me,
“Okay I see,
I’ll give you that one,
But you’re not done!
Give me one more,
And I mean it has to be good,
Come’ on now, play it like
You said you would…”
So I rack my brain some more...
Trying to think of something deep...
But I’m working on lack of sleep
And just can’t think!
So I try to cheat.
And say on the sly,
Well I am talking to my good friend
Who never makes me cry!
And once again he sighs,
“Nope, that won’t do,
I could say the same about you!”
Ack! Foiled again,
I need to tell my friend,
Wish I could,
But life seems to throw me a curve,
And it’s my turn to serve!
Aha! I got it,
This one will be a hit!
Ah, I type with a smile,
Now I’m in the mood to play,
You can’t top this one,
Got two days off to shop and play,
And I even got paid,
Some money left to spend,
Think I’ll have lunch with a friend!
He responds with a smiley grin,
“And just who is this lucky fellow,
Come’ on don’t tease, tell me who?
Can’t you just give me a clue?
I am laughing as I let him know-
Well, silly boy…it’s you!”

|Reindeer, I loved this because it's based on personal experience and feelings. I can also see this reworked into a children's picture book. That would be cool.

|Rein--I don't know what to say over this. I have mixed emotions. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. This episode did happen and I'm finding out now that my actions are really appreciated. This poem will be special to me until my dying day. I am speachless. I also want you to know that I'm thankful for your friendship as well. You have uplifted my spirits during my times of dispair and I thank you for it. LC|
