Kindred Spirit

Within a Castles walls
I often pondered deep
But little did I know
Friends Id find to keep
One dear man
Made his presences known
A birthday wish he gave me
At a time I felt alone
He left me more than words
More than just well wishes
A part of himself he gave
For that I give him kisses
He opened his arms to me
A shoulder on which to cry
I poured my heart to him
Leaving naught a dry eye
I found a Kindred Spirit
Within his words I read
Of suffering held silent
And pain that goes unsaid
He spoke of loss
Of this I can relate
For to bear this cross
A kinship did create
It brought us closer
Speaking of things we share
To feel each others pain
It makes one more aware
In this big wide world
We are not alone
All one needs do is look
To make our presences known.

It's people we feel akin to that enable us to release all that dross within us..what is a friend...hmmm...a kindred spirit ..what else!!...there are many around us...it's up to us to ACCEPT their unconditional Love...then more will come...much more !!!

Dee,
For some reason this just may go down as my favorite poem of all time.
Kindred Spirits are priceless.
It is by grace and humility we find them, but by the true love in out hearts we keep them.
Precious words Dee. Hit my heart but good.
