|beautifully aching painful poem, so well-written, so simply, yet hauntingly put--
you make one 'see' the 'lash', those 'streets' and more, you make one feel them...well-versed and as for 'it's okay'...no, not really, no...the poem, ah, yes...and the acceptance the title suggests, still does not excuse, nor banish the pain felt...some wonderful lines....'pray to a deaf god's ears'/'that the streets wildly ruined' and that last verse, the comparison, oh!
"that love seems to elude
just like a dream may"...
may, just like a dream may...and perhaps, there is a hopefulness, although...sigh, awe and sadness, and raw and nakedly telling of a heart trying to grasp and accept...yet, change? what about change, oh to loosen those 'chains'...one has to fight, gently and accept sometimes, what others 'see' and, well...quite a poet!

|I, damn, I agree...Love should not elude you, but it does, and perhaps, well, perhaps it is that questioning, that open-hearted wonderful author/poet and this past that haunts...I well, again..dammit, dammit, could cry...but words cleanse and tell and shivers, this gave me shivers...so much I relate to this, (((You)))...& I also...well, ah, it/life..unfair and all too often when people/parents/elders, etc. do what they believe is out of love...geez, being Italian and Catholic bred..Oh, Hell...yes, a 'deaf god's ears' seems to be what we begin to wonder about, so through words we keep shouting at this god...
Look at the 'love' here, hey, Ladies, count me in...
yes, I wish, also could make you Smile, my Poet/Friend ....you know? oh, yes, you know...most of it, sigh!
at a loss, wish I was there to do this
& ...well, read your works, too...and
hmmm, never mind the rest, LOL... now, did you smile, yet?

|Oh richard...I do understand this..I do...it was done out of love...or so they thought..and God was deaf..He didn't hear you..and the chains remain...I pray that one day you catch your dream and it does not get away from you...that you can keep it...peace to you friend...floria|
