Right now, in this moment…
We are so perfect
Me here with our two
And you…
Far away

Right now, longing washes over you
Like a cool summer night’s rain
Washing away the children’s bickering
Leaving only their smiles
That you miss
And their soft kiss

Human nature in a divided state
Holds on to the sweetest thoughts
As with the softest pillow I clutch in slumber
In your absence
Drawing you back

Right now, my thoughts of your stubborn ways
Fade into the distant clouds
Much like the low rumble of waning thunder
All I seem to remember is your gentle face
And the laughter you coax from me

Soon we both know the mundane fog
Will seep through as we draw near
To blur the clarity that distance gives
And yet, it is all we want
To be here…me, you and our two

Right now, in this moment
We are so perfect
Where we can imagine the splendor
Of your return
The happiness that trails the brightest comet

When, ‘we miss you’ needn’t be said
‘I want daddy back’ is granted
Where laughter rules the domain
Where mom need not fight to remain sane…

Right now, in this moment
We are so perfect.
