To A Drinking Man

Oh Dear Sir, do you know
tonight you took away my soul
you took my daughter out of the blue
and left me praying it wasn't true

Oh Dear Sir, do you know what you have done
you've taken her life and left us with none
she was a daughter, sister and mother
now there will never be another

Oh Dear Sir, why were you drinking
the night you made my world start sinking
didn't you know you'd break our hearts
the night you tore our family apart

Oh Dear Sir, why didn't you think
before you took that last drink
was it worth it in the end
the night you sent her car into a spin

Oh Dear Sir, she had two kids
and she loved them, yes she did
one little girl, one little boy
and she was the sparkle of their joy

Oh Dear Sir, please don't drink
please don't make another family sink
before you decide to drink and drive
remember the night my daughter died

Oh Dear Sir, you're not forgiven
you drove the car that took Sheila to Heaven
you had to drive, but didn't think
was it worth it, that last drink
