Saying Goodbye

2 Little poems about my kids

It kills you to see them grow up. But I guess it would kill you quicker
if they didn't. ~Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams

~SAYING GOODBYE~

To say goodbye does break the heart
When from the home, children depart
The need to hold them and protect
Will NEVER cease......as they expect

Each goodbye cements the pain
With smile forced and tears of rain
Turn back the clock....or make time slow!
And wish they'd never have to go!!!!

Years flash by so very fast
When did they grow...bemused....we gasp!
My boy, a man, yet still a teen....
Were these past 19 years a dream?

Women who miscalculate are called mothers. ~Abigail Van Buren

HER CHOICE

Oh! How I love you little one!
You light my spirit like the sun
Into my life, so unexpected
I was the vessel you selected

When you recall your heavenly days
How on moonbeams you did play
When looking down to earth you found
My heart light shining from the ground

She told me..........

I picked YOU, Mom, to mold my life
To be your child, to raise me right
To be my anchor and my guide
And my comfort when I cry

I love you my baby!

Lady A, these are beautiful! They do indeed grow up fast. My baby girl is to be married in Sept. I often long for their being little days again.

I know these feelings! I have one that is 11 and it seems like yesterday she was having "tea parties" with her stuffed animals then one day she asks "Courtney's mom lets her shave her legs and I was wondering if..." I was resting last night with my 4 year old son as he fell asleep. I was looking at him and wondered where the time went. Playing with his little curls I realized that he will never be like this again....I cherish every moment be it good or bad with both of mine. Wonderful job! Teresa
