My Child, The Melodramatic

I smile, and giggle to myself,
she’s at it again, my Drama Queen,
she made a microphone
from paper, a colorful
yarn cord,
plugged into
the Hutch drawer,
singing her new poem,
“The Bells Ring”,

"Ohohohohoh,
Heyheyheyheyhey,
I hear the bell ringgggging,
Ringinggg through the walls,
Of Time…to my heart,
Ohohohohoh,
Heyheyheyheyhey…"

Her quavering child voice,
her steadfast beat of soul,
blonde-headed, blue eyes
filled with…stars. She
recruits her older sister
for a background singer,

"Oh(oh)oh(oh)oh(oh)oh(oh)..."

Though it was like pulling taffy
to get Her Stage Shyness to sing,
and that is about it
for Siss’s repertoire,
that concept is foreign
to my 8 year old Dramatic Diva,
who is belting out her heart’s song
20 minutes past her bedtime…

No sense stifling
creativity. And
I smile, again.

Ah...little girls, loved this. Mine used a belt, so when it was time for her dance routine, she'd hook it in her waistband, and have it ready for when she went back into song.

LOL.. I loved reading this one.. Reminds me of when mine where young. Both were such hams. Of course my oldest still is, writing songs and singing with a band. He's 21 and still going strong (smile) Treasure these moments. They grow up so fast.

Love;
Melanie
