"Escape" is a breath-taking suspense that pits the will of a paranoiac commune leader with the grit of a Daphne, Alabama grade-school teacher who fights to escape his mad..

Lost Innocence

Inspiring poem for anyone who has ever been molested or abused.

Lost Innocence
(Draft 3)
4/16/03

Evil fingers probed the young
Supple body of an energetic
And smiling eight-year-old in
A dark basement damp with
Sadness and empty vibes
As she cried silently.

Evil fingers probed this young
sweet body as trickery became
The treat that was given to the eight-year-old
As she screamed in hollow ectasy and the
devilish woman who taunted her, simply
grinned as she violated the girls body.

Lost innocence

On a block where womens heads were constantly
bashed in and blood was the sacrifice taken
from time to time by men who thought they were
GODS, the angelic little girl cried out in agony.

Years later she would never speak the pain again.
Too ashamed to admit that she had let someone suck
the life out of her, she simply stuffed it all inside.

Then one day in her mid-twenties she snapped.
Tired of empty beds of lust with men who didn’t care
about her sweet thighs, she couldn’t take anymore lies
that she told herself or the others.
She screamed in pain as she realized that she had
victimized her soul just for a quick lay and emotional
freedom.

Lost innocence

Sometimes I am amazed at the
Fact that I never once thought of death,
Or drowning my shame by shooting up drugs to
kill my pain.
Sometimes I am amazed at the fact that
God has allowed me to see bright lights
And live beautiful dreams that
Make me forget those dark days
And nights
And tears that sometimes seep
From my eyes.

Lost innocence

This is a poem about survival.
This is a poem for every woman or child
Victimized.
Know that it is not your fault
And that you are a beautiful soul.

Your innocence may have been
Lost once
But it can be found again.

Keep being the sweet angels
That God created
By letting light and energy
Seep from your bodies.

Let your love rule!

Hey Girl, WOW I think the first half is EXCELLENT and powerfully honest. Why the explanatory stanzas? The poem was complete after the second lost innocence - reread it and see if you agree.
