*April 26, 2003--There is no category for this--it's not much but here it is.

Flag unfurled
waving in the breeze,
in mid air suspended
that all may see.
The emblem of a nation
contrasts the sky,
its symbolic station,
for which some die.
The thirteen stripes
and the fifty stars
the original and new, alike,
both near and far.
Just one flag of many
waving in the breeze--
from vessels in the seas
and all the territories,
to each city and State,
of the United States.
