I looked into
The eyes of Time
And saw Destiny
He scared me
Smiling
He extended his hand
Reaching for mine
Panic had me frozen
Intrigue made me open
All the locks
On all the doors
That existed on all the walls
I had built for my protection
The only thing scarier
Than the unknown
Is getting to know it
I placed my hand in his
Shaking uncontrollably
He whispered his name
"Faithful and True"
Then he said
"I have come for you"
I could hear myself screaming
"DON'T HURT ME!!!"
But my lips had not moved
Out of the corner of my eye
I saw Life enter the room
He stood on my left
Peering into my soul
His eyes reflecting
The events of my past
I shed
Tears of remorse
Until I was standing
In water knee deep
My heart sank
Then Destiny whispered
"Continue with life
And go left
Or
Go right
With Faithful and True"
I tightened my grip
On the hand that held mine
And replied
"Today, I am teachable"
I was smiling

Deep, profound, emotional and thought provoking. My favorite verses are:

Ain't that the truth?
Netta, you left me hanging wanting for more. Great job.
