Saying Goodbye

Is it just a simple word,
Or is it so much more?
Itís a word that I have had to say
Too many times before

Iíve written of this word before
Itís often on my heart
Goodbye for some comes easy
But it tears my heart apart

Perhaps I see it differently
Than other people do
After all we are all different
With different points of view

For me itís just the way it seems
So final when itís said
So when itís time for me to go
Iíll find another word instead

Someday in the future
Someone will find a granite stone
It will tell about a man who lived
Till the good Lord called him home

They will read the words upon the stone
And most will wonder why
ďJack Roberts left this world behind
Without as much as a goodbyeĒ

Wow.. Well, I am guilty of the same thing.. Have never said Good bye.. Was afraid it meant forever and at times it does... Ahhh but in my lesson .. if I had to it again.. I would have said good bye.. and let that person say it to me.. Because now .. in the end.. one does not even have that. Great write.. Ouch.

Good-bye does sound so final doesn't it.(( so farewell, so long ,see ya later is more appropriate.)) Keep up the great poetry until your gone. :)

I think death is cruel. Somehow I feel God should have sent us home on a train or boat somehow. No dead bodies, just get on a train and you leave. Nicely done, Jack. Thoughtful.
