Springtime has returned
And brought a gift for my dear wife
Her lilac bush has bloomed
For the first time in its life

With great anticipation
Each year she's watched it grow
In the front yard where we planted it
Just three short years ago

As she cradles up the lilac blooms
And holds them to her face
It brings my heart a gladness
And new memories to embrace

I like to watch her out there
As the evening robins sing
Where she mingles with the fragrance
Of her lilacs in the spring

This is truly beautiful, especially in the love and emotion that shine through it. It brought tears. I too love lilac and have a big beautiful bush in my front garden.
