sitting in my favorite hangout
on a mission to pickup the
bad boys
and somehow Iím talking to
tender of the bar
after two three years of pouring my drink
and talking about
we find out
we both write poetry
he flips out his notes
shows me some work
who would have thought
who could have known
makes me want
to ask Everyone I know
excuse me
do You
so many voices so little time

Om Jo seems you and I are alike (always seeking out the bad boys :O)and funnier even still when I found a fellow talented poet it was within one of my rehab patients!
Fantastic Piece here Jo shows WE POETS DO COME FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE!

I had a guy tell me that one time, and my friend went home with him, I just had another drink, ....I think they live in San Francisco now and are very happy. I didn't know at the time it was a gay bar in Hawaii next to the International Market called "The Lemon Tree" I just thought, Gee, everyone one in here is so nice, but where are all the women in this town?

What a delight, I have been in the same position with people I have been around a long time. Like who would have thought it?

LOL, liked this Jo.
I think our secret society needs a handshake, or maybe we can wear our "colors" to let the world beware....we are POETS!
Next thing you know...we'll be on the ten-o-clock news for another senseless drive-by writing.

So many voices is right.
Many poets want to be anonymous
Probably for fear of being made fun of
I think being a poet, or an artist is nothing to be ashamed of
An enjoyable write......Thanks

excellent Josie! truth is it's easier to check those who don't because most people do love to rhyme, only they don't all follow through on it;-)

I see what you mean... I have met few who read/understand/ poetry.. write it!! LOL.. Wow.. You never know. As always you take something simple and brought great meaning to this write.. Open our eyes and our minds.. Perhaps we are all poets if given the inspiration.
