This poem is dedicated to a very dear friend. Without her my inspiration to write would have never come about. Although, her critiques were many they were never harsh and always sound. Crystal, I thank you.

Though I haven't known you long,
a dear friend you are to me.
If I could only write a song,
You'de be in my symphony.

Encased, in a shell of steel,
the tune comes sounding through.
A melody that does portray,
the gentleness of you.

Don't change your style or compromise,
your emotions for anyone.
A scale of notes and sunlite skies,
has only but begun.

The rhythm and soul that you create,
were beautiful from the start.
A collection of treasures given us,
from deep within your heart.

The beat, the words, and sweet refrain
I write this day are true .
Dreams fulfilled, without the pain...
Crystal, this song's for you.

Paul,
The second stanza resonates strongly with me. We all have those walls we erect to protect our delicate feelings. Most only drop those walls for special friends. A great friendship piece. Love and Hugs,
Sheila
