You are a harsh man,
A cruel friend,
Though you don’t mean to be,
Your honesty,
To fine honed for me…
I can’t say the things you do,
I can’t do what you tell me to,
So much like he,
The one I loved in my youth…

Someone I could never hope to be,
And don’t want to be!
I can’t be so cold!
Though you call it bold-
And hate when I disagree,
Using that fine tuned mind,
Against even me…

And I weep baby,
And I pull my hair,
But in the end,
I just don’t care…

Leave me,
I release you,
I set you free,
Break the vow,
And the hold,
You have on me…

God, I need to bleed!
I need to set my soul aflame…
Carve my way free…

Yet I cannot leave,
Cannot forget,
The cage you placed
Around my heart…

Your eyes so dark,
So deep I fall within,
So beautiful,
They make me weep…

My friend,
I cannot sleep…
I cannot eat.
I see only your face
In my dreams at night…

I wish I were free to love you,
Wish I were there by your side.
Wish it was my face you see,
When you wake in the morning…

How do I find the strength to rise?
Go through my day,
Without you by my side?

My heart so heavy,
Deep in my chest,
I find it hard to breathe.
I need you baby,
I want you too,
God in heaven,
Please tell me what to do!
I am so damn lost
Without you…

this was really great. I loved the expression, then a little confusion, then the enjoyable thought of reading this.

Ah, this one held a surprise for me. At first you say how you hate his harshness and you're releasing him, & then you admit your need for him. Lots of emotions in this heartfelt write. Very good!

Retta I have felt this many times. I guess sometimes we hold on to things in hoping of true friends. When it can be our worse nightmare.
