Shows how I have been feeling lately since this severe weather threat started over a week ago...

i think MY fear is bad; karla's is WORSE than mine! SHE has been in 3 tornadoes, and SHE has been indirectly struck by lightning, not once, but TWICE. and the last tornado she was in (january 17, 1996), she lost her roof and was misplaced for a month! so you can understand her fear; but it isn't good when the fear is startin' to rub off on me! and i have NEVER been in a tornado (YET, and don't care to, thank you very much!!)!! :(

I've got the severe weather blues,
Am feelin' physically drained and abused.

Can't hardly sleep a wink, arthritic joints are givin' me fits;
I'm so tired of this weather, I can just haul off and spit!

Livin' in Texas' Tornado Alley has me feelin' scared,
And if IT should happen..I'm NOT prepared!

Hidin' in a small bathtub is not MY idea of fun--
If I should hear the winds blow..boy, do I wanna' RUN!

Or, better yet, a BASEMENT would do me just fine--
WHY aren't there any here; is havin' one a CRIME??

Why no basements here? It doesn't make ANY sense;
When tornadoes threaten, I DON'T want to be covered with bumps or dents!!

Here, you don't have a chance when it comes to the weather--
The sooner I leave Texas, it will be SO much better! :(

Hi Karen,
While living at home our garage was hit twice with a tornado and lightning struck the house four times. When I moved away from home thought I was safe, wrong, lightning has followed me there also. So I know how you feel. Hang in.

I've been through THREE tornadoes! The worst (1984, Xenia, Ohio) was one huge top with twin tails; God put His over us and the tornadoes turned 500 yards from our house.
I've also been through blizzards, fires, earthquakes and floods.
Wherever you go, there's something. Trust in God and He'll see you through it!

I've been in a tornado before, it is not fun at all. I sat in the hall, me, my flashlight and pillows. You may get to read about it in an up coming story. I'm working on a new idea for a book, and that story will be in there! It changes your life forever, but I don't think it would make me want to move.

Tornadoes give me the jeepers. Southern Ontario is considered a mini tornadoe alley. Don't care for the small ones either. Seen one on the Praire. Scary but fasinating. I wondered about the basements too when visiting Texas. The year I drove through was one of their worst heatwaves......and tornadoes everywhere! On another trip from CA to Ontario tornadoes where hitting ahead of me and behind me by a few hours.......Someone was watching over me :-) Hugs this season will soon be over.
