"Heart swallowed emptiness".....Hmm, sister, some high praise I see here....I wonder, could these type words and lines, have anything to do with it?
Rodney Evan Bohen
Heart swallowed emptiness
dead weight upon the soul…
The darkness falls in happenstance
its depth I can’t control.
Yet spit I in the face of these
who’d break my spirit twain…
Tis I who ride upon their backs
to gather starlit tears…
I resurrect the hope that’s born
from facing down my fears.

|Great work, Melissa. It is a change for you using the Old English wording in your work but it works well in this piece.
