Today Is the nightmare I dread all my life,
Which I never thought, I reach,
My "60th Birthday"..... Thank God.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*****~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another glorious day
For me to wake up
Thank God
For another stay
On my "60th Birthday."
What I see, in the morror
Comes with a bit of horror
As I look heaven bound
Towards Zeus.
Without saying a word
I yelled
Why can I age gracefully
Like Gary Grant, Gregory Peck
Of Randoff Scott.
The reflection of me
I see
Is that of a Neanderthal
That God Forgot.
When I was young
I would hear whispers of
"He has the body"
Of a Greek God.
A body carved and chiseled
To perfection
Like, Mars, Mercury
Or Apollo.
But Zeus
Has bestowed, upon me
The body, of a forsaken Greek
Since I've Become
A Computer Geek.
Oh Happy Birthday Wiliam..
This reminds me of a poem
I wrote awhile back...
"Age With Grace"
It is kind of scary how
fast the time passes by..
I have learned to give
thanks for every single
gray hair and for each
new wrinkle...
I am thankful that I lived
long enough to discover
these gifts...
It's so heartbreaking when
someone so young passes away...
From an illness, accident
or a victim of a drive by
shooting...
So live it up!!!
This is another mile
stone for you... :)
William, my grandmother used to tell me that every day above ground is a good day. And I know for a fact that each new decade brings greater adventures. Enjoy your birthday, my friend, and many, many more!
