Part of living is painful mistakes. It's a lesson we all learn in a hard way.
--Susan*

I went to the meadow my heart full of pain
I opened my fists to welcome the rain
It poured down in torrents
It soaked through my dress
Sheer to the bones then firmly was pressed
To my breasts gently molded
Securely it clung
As my lover once held me
Til his kisses stung
With passions that spoke of promises bold
Of futures forever
Of hearts that would hold
Time in a bottle
Hours that would span
Lifetimes of promises that would never hold sands
In the hourglass of fortunes
With the minutes of love
Stolen for moments that took me above
To soar with the woodstorks
Fly through the clouds
Drift with the jet stream
Laughing aloud
Gone with the clock hands
Turning the time
Forcing the rains with thunder that climbs
With streaks of these tears and flashes of light
That escorts the ghosts of pains that just might
Take steps to go forward
Forget all the shadows
Release them from spirits into this wet meadow
To forget love's sad past and live for the days,
For hopes that are hopes
With tears that have paid
Dues that give strength and wages of tears
To put aside sadness forsaking love's fears
Let raindrops cleanse spirits
Let these blue eyes see
While dress hems cling softly
Then wrap around knees
In natures caress I find new beginnings
I vow to go on forsaking the many
Oaths made in lust
Broken in haste
Gone with the rays of sunshine that tastes
Of gentle wet kisses that light on my lips
And warm breaths of breezes that move on my hips
As violes absorb moisture of tears and the rain
And palms open gently to release all this pain
