went to the ocean
it calls
when I’m confused
it is there
my church
that I see that I feel that I know
and I laid in the sand
looked to the sky
and
listened
the surf
the noise of the sea
and my soul lament
flew in the wind
and a calm
touched my brow
saying
shhhh
listen
hear me
I am the sea I am the wind
the sand on which you lay
I touch your forehead here
and wipe the furrow of life
the rhythm of the tide is mine
there is comfort strength
belonging
here
shhhhh
listen
know
that we are one
that
you are loved special
adored for who you are
cradled here
in my arms
sweet child
I will never let you go
shhhhh
hush
now

Yes the ocean speaks to me too....I wish I was there right now...I need it so bad!!
But it is cold and rainy and very dark outside now...so I guess I have ti talk to myself now...!

I felt this in the depths of my soul. I still long for the rhythm of the ocean and your words remind me of that longing.

Beautiful. Something about water, the ocean or a sea. Very calming to the soul.

Josie, excellent poem. You better wake up before the tide comes in. (lol) Sorry,I couldn't resist that.

the ocean does have that calming effect on a person. love it! when we were nearly 18, we went to philadelphia, pa., to visit our older sister, and we went to the atlantic ocean; and the sound of the surf and the waves was asthetic and calming. very soothing to the mind and soul. i will always remember that sound of the water, and i always have loved that sound of the ocean. wonderful write, josie dear! (((HUGS))) and love, your friend in texas, karen lynn. :)
