last night, i saw something i had never seen before...the aurora borealis (northern lights). commonly seen in the northern climes, they are very rarely observed in the southern states. they were faint, but absolutely breathtaking in their beauty.
-------------------------------------------------------------
transparent curtains,
composed of heavenly light,
danced in the night sky.

God's beauty displayed,
the colors of the rainbow
arced amongst the stars.

shimmering, dancing,
twirling on the horizon--
what a joyous treat!

oh! to be that free!
to float in the heavenlies,
on God's gentle breeze!

The Northern Lights are breathtaking. I used to live in the "sticks" in Alaska, where the Northern Lights dance like a veil back and forth throughout the sky right over your house. Do you know on a winter's night when you lay out under them you can actually hear them? There are no words to describe it or their beauty! The one thing I miss about Alaska! Thank you for reminding me.....
