a bed is a bed is a bed
livin' or dead
some books been read
sometimes all' been said

sure ain't no bed a roses
no posies
maybe a few doe-si-doses
but who knowis'

first ya' live
then you're dead
that's about all
can be said

so take each day
the way
it comes
sometime's ya' win
but loses are part a' the sum
that 'bout sums it up

a bed is a bed is a bed
you make
you lie in it
you take
ya' give
then ya' die
aw shit
but did ya' live?

that's what it 'tis
ta' live
ta' give
ta' die
why ask why?
only make you sigh
only make ya' wanna' cry

that's what's bein' dead
lyin' in a bed

a bed is a bed is a bed
bed-room, flower-bed, graveyards
all the same
just part a' the game
of life
of livin'
of given'

but, if ya' lived
and if ya' gived
then you'll stay
where ya' lay
& there you'll stay

but, if you
were just passin' thru
ya' missed that day
& ya' still lay
in a bed of roses
or over-doses
or doe-si-doses
or supposes's
or when's

or wantin' ta' begin again's

life aint's no bed a roses
but, i supposees
you already knowsis
that's a fact
ain't no act

someitme lean
sometimes mean
sometimes fat
that's just life
& that
be a fact

just about that

a bed is a bed is a bed
hope ya' like
what you just read

if you can read
probably betterin' me
tryin ta' write

but never
lose sight
a bed is a bed is a bed

like a good book
you once read
the story get's told
some are boring
some are bold

what matter's is
the stories been read
& after all

a bed is a bed is a bed
