The Death of Another

I watched you make love to her

until I could bear no more,

the site filled me with emptiness

that ate into the bitterness of my soul.

The tears I cried nailed the coffin

and placed it into a tomb of stone.

My fingers welcomed its cold hard surface

tracing the last words written and sworn.

“Here lies a love that flourished

with tenderness of Summer Rain,

to bloom to something wonderful

but yet, ended with so much pain”

Rest in peace in this solemn place

beneath my heart of bitter scorn,

know that I shall not weep nor mourn.

Good bye my lover, forever more,

silently I walked across the marble floor.

Outstanding Tracey, this is very unique and powerful in emotion below the intentionally understated tone.

Tracey...you have never failed to write with such depth, and as bittersweet as errant love can flow in the twisted river of life...know that it still must make its way to the sea of experience where it is eventually set free. Beautiful and masterfully done. With deep love,

Felt this one! Hmmmmm seems we are all in the same mood today, we could always blame it on the planets, Or the ever popular "bad choices"
I agree with Ed!
