Over Her

It's been over a year
The seasons have come, faded, gone,
The months have passed
And still you and I had remained strong.
You were hurt at first
Your old love broke your tender heart,
Pierced your soul with betrayal
Tore your perfect world so far apart.
But you put her to the side
You trusted me despite the pain,
You gave me your heart
Knowing you'll never be hurt again.
I've loved you from the start
I've honoured you like my King,
I've trusted you completely
For you, I've done absolutely everything.
But now things are different
Our love has faded like the seasons,
And although it hurt me
I just had to know the reasons.
You told me you loved me
But you loved her so much more,
And no matter what you do
You can't erase the feelings from before.
You told me you think of her
And she plagues your thoughts constantly,
And when you close your eyes
It's her face that you always see.
I can't believe your words
I can't believe that they are so true ,
I thought you were over her
Just like she had gotten over you.
But I was mistaken
Because you still carry a torch for her,
It burns as bright as the sun
And it causes our torch to form a blur.
I can't believe it's happening
I had your love, blinked and it's vanished again,
You've fallen so much in love
With someone who only causes you pain.
I can't believe I've lost your love
I can't believe that it's now just a memory,
I can't believe I lost it to her
I can't believe that you don't love me.
You told me it was over
You told me you didn't love her anymore,
But know I know they were lies
Because you've just walked out the door.
