this title does not pertain to this poem's character but rather my collective experiences. just to clear up any freak-outs, weirdness, cancelled plans, etc.

i wake, for a moment
i forget where i was
when repose overtook me,
my head on flattened pillows
on the side you don't sleep,
opposite the window--
now with light streaming in
the tell-tale grey of storms
and i roll over
in an effort to get back
to my pounding heart
and subconscious ponderings.
five hours of rest are not
nearly enough these days,
i'd later meander through
things, dazed and incoherent
thought a small price to pay
for the glory of blue eyes
and a snowy smile
at 9:30
with coffee, and cigarettes
freshly ground, hand-rolled,
and the soulful man voice
over acoustic guitar,
the surrealist's story goes--
oh heart, you are a gentle
destroyer, setting me up by default,
urging me closer to you, saying,
fall,
fall,
fall away
unto me
into him

This is a great piece....Sometimes the heart isn't so fucking gentle either.
