An old song, yet it's my favorite one I've written so far. A musician friend of mine cowrote this, Steve Campbell, by instantly (no lie, 2 minutes max) writing the second verse when I became stuck and showed him the first verse and chorus. Amazing what the power of music and connection can do for people.

Silent moonlight

Patterned skyway to the heavens above

Captive limelight

Flickering with traces of love

Burning brightly

Swaying lightly

Ruthless dance

Quiet bedtime

Tuck me in

Rush out, flicker up

As the light starts to fade

Begin, what a time

As our life starts to change

Take in, strike your match

As the gleam starts to show

Breathe in, light your flame

And watch the magic unfold

Shadows dance

As breathing feels like bleeding

Take me in

I'll wait all night

Singing sweetly

Pray discreetly

Silent night

Calms the pain

Take me in

Rush out, flicker up

As the light starts to fade

Begin, what a time

As our life starts to change

Take in, strike your match

As the gleam starts to show

Breathe in, light your flame

And watch the magic unfold

Close your eyes

Take a hold

And watch the magic unfold

Rush out, flicker up

As the light starts to fade

Begin, what a time

As our life starts to change

Take in, strike your match

As the gleam starts to show

Breathe in, light your flame

And watch the magic unfold

Rush out...

As the light starts to fade

Begin...

As our life starts to change

Take in...

As the gleam starts to show

Breathe in... (echo)

And watch the magic unfold
