A Sword and A Stone

You wield a mighty sword of strength
and I am but a humble heart whose
days and nights are filled with dreams
of wanting, and the need to have
the one thing, your heart.

I climbed the snowy mountains of the Past and travelled the narrow roads of Today
and still you stand there, sword raised,
and I can not pass, I can not touch though
my need is unbearable.

Just look at me!
See past the clouds of your pain.
Look at me!
I am fresh, I am the future.
I did not cause the torment,
I only want to take it away.

But the sword you wield is mighty
and I can not break the stone.

Dear Joann;

I'm finally getting around to your stuff again!

Hopeless romantic anachronism that I am... I loved the allegory, here!
