Realizations Come To Light

Realizations Come To Light

There in the darkness, I sat and wept

For something that was never there,

Something I could never keep.

Was all that I felt, merely a dream?

If it was, them please, stir me awake!

I want not these images flashing by,

Of something I cannot find, as

That spark dies deep within my heart.

Lost love, without the wings of the phoenix,

Withers this night.  My soul grieves

For what it lives without, a kinship

That spans lifetimes.  Hush now, for life

Moves in odd little ways, as the

Ocean of life sways the vessels in

Which we travel.  I’ve washed ashore

On some distant beach, forsaken and alone,

To walk, forever more.

" a kinship that spans lifetimes" It can certainly seem that this is required after years spent alone. But I'm learning that a little human contact can go a long way. But that's probably my over-emphasis on fantasy, in lieu of real relationships being expressed. I just don't know.
