A Bit Of National Pride
I am an Australian through and through,
A free born Auusie, real true blue
A Dinki Di a product of my Mum and Dad
The greatest product they ever had.
I love Australia land of my birth
Its blazing sun and harsh brown turf
A unique land none other to compare
With unique people, this land I share.
Its short history great in colourful deeds
In history's books for all to read
Of battles won and wars we've fought
Tales of courage, to our children taught
As our country's grown from strength to strength
And progress made throughout its length
To other nations we've extended the hand
To come and settle and develop this land.
From around the world they answered the call
And added their strength, workers all
Made this land what it is today,
A chance to work and a chance to play.
A chance for all to have their say Each for themselves, in their own way
No fear of prison or shot of lead
As a punishment, for what's been said.
A land in which all can take their place
No matter what the colour or race
Of the land they came from, for now they are free
To stand up tall with you and me
How proudly we stand, Australians all
Ready to answer our Country's call
To make this land for the world to see
As our land of freedom and equality.
