Looking through these bars
Knowing theres no way out
Longing to be with him
Thats what its all about
I can't be free of this prison
It has a strangling hold
Trapped in a world of pain
With someone whos grown cold

Wanting to be with him
He's longing to be with me
But locked in our own prison
Where niether can be free
Keeping our love hidden
Deep in our heart
While these invisible prison bars
Are keeping us apart

Living in cold indifference
Knowing he is too
Dreaming of each other
But not much we can do
So many miles come between us
While we suffer silently
As the freezing bars of our prison
Keeps him from me

Wow Linda.
A difficult poem indeed, but captures so well what too many of us experience.
May liberation come in time.
Love will set you free.

This one I can relate to for
I lived in that prison for many months almost
a year and then I gaveup. But in giving up
I found my freedom and the timing and carrier of his love was so much more rewarding than
what I almost settled for.
It is never ever not possible. But the time in prison is impossible I know and this one carries the lonliness of that captivaty to heart.
Excellent piece...

Cut to the heart, beautiful poem of raw emotion. Nothing is ever completely impossible.
