This is a repost of the very first poem I ever put in AD and remains one of my favorites.

Like a woman her depth cannot be measured.
Like a woman her presence comes in waves.
Weeping for her dead, then taking with her what is treasured,
She feeds us all with secrets that she saves.
The moon, her only real master, shrinks,
For even he can't understand how she behaves,
And we mere mortals cannot know the thoughts she thinks.
Her kisses are as tender as a lovers',
As she teases, always knowing she will leave
But come again with rage.  No time for covers.
Her head up, there is no time to grieve.
She lives!  She will go on.  She has no rules.
She gives birth, immaculate, unending.
When she sleeps she suffers many fools.
They know nothing of the plans that she has pending.
Up she rises!  In an instant she is raging!
Davy Jones awaits his guests, she is their escort.
His compliments to Madam... most engaging.
While stands empty every harbor, every port.

This Atlantic ocean you are writing about sure sounds like ME.....HA HA. Teasing....As always your descriptions are wonderfully FULL. I enjoy these words. As you read, it feels as if you are almost there smelling that clean ocean air.... I can't pick a favorite part. I liked the whole thing :)

Thank you,

I seem to remember reviewing this one before. And I like it even more now. You think I reinvent rhyme? If that's the case, then someone else had to come up with it in the first place. And Katydid was elected.
