Print Save Become a Fan
I sigh, as I see, the impossible, has captured me. Ambition.
The awareness of a natural talent
does not a Poet make.
The pains of birth, the insecurities,
cause her world to quake.
The rushing sounds, of life unbound,
do not a Poet make.
There is something more, the formal lure,
and, so, inside she aches.
She wants it all, clear bugles call,
ambition starts to wake.
Theory divined, in Life-filled mind,
she yearns to come awake.
The push and pull, furthered learning’s hall,
it slithers like a snake.
She wants it all, the final call,
of words, she will partake!
It’s not the form, they become the norm,
she hopes there’s no mistake,
she sees a light, in golden life,
she knows she’s not a fake.

I do not want to write for myself, I want to write for others. I want to write for others... Do idiosyncrasies dwell in the mind of a Poet? Yes, they do! :)

|Erin, me sweet, Not one person has mentioned how effortlessly you have continued the 2nd/4th lines rhyme scheme here.. no mean feat! You talk so openly to us, your readers, without shouting.. perhaps that is where your true talent lies.. you are able to clunk me (blissfully) with your provoking thoughts.. I always leave your work feeling smarter.. and inspired! A poet whose work I admire once said 'listen to your heart and write honestly what it tells you'.. When he said that, I thought of you. love, katy xox.|

|Hhhhhmmmmm!.....Interesting write and insightful here!
A great poet is one who can capture his/her audience with his/her own thoughts and words. When the audience think he/she is writing for them with his/her own thoughts then this poet is successful. Then it becomes this poet's own style.
Thank you for sharing!
