Ah, Summer
your fiery heat envelopes earth
the red glowing orb enflames us
the sky is blinding white
the blue is paisley pale
you inspire us to wet our brows
and drink to cool our thirst
to seek out shade
to dive in still water
the heat thrives

Ah, Summer
your fiery heat was madness
the heated moon would attest to
the night was warm
only falling stars cooled
the lovers fever
the light abounds
the stillness surrounds
embraced in eternal summer
the heat arrives

Ah, Summer
your fiery heat inspires our muse
she seduces the light
she moves the night
the stillness is her whispers
you have to listen closely
when you’ve got the fever
love will be flaming hot
our souls are on fire
the heat captivates

Ah, Summer
your fiery heat shall fade away
the dog days lie down to sleep
the autumn will have her way
preparing earth for winter
hibernation awaits our spirits
whisked away by fall winds
the Indian summer fools us
your last fling with our muse
the heat lulls our silent lives
