Anticipation

I anticipate anticipation's arrival
Again she will visit me tonight
I lay restless cause last nights memory of you
Remains in my mind
My dreams are of your sway
My dreams are of your beauty
My nightmares are of you not returning
Come back
I anticipate your arrival
Turn restless sleep
Into comatose dreams
I anticipate your arrival
Make love to me deep in the sheets
Envelop my soul in your bossom
Comfort me with your warmth
I anticipate your arrival
Lay with me and cuddle my thoughts
Until sleep invades
Subject my soul to search no more
You have arrived with anticipation of your own
We lay
Wrapped in each others glow
Anticipating tomorrow.

This poem was inspired by the work of John Trevino Kelley. Thanks for everything...

Truly splendid work. I enjoyed reading the poem. It has a very heightening mood-puts you on a slight adrenaline rush. This is a very intriguing poem for two reasons. First and foremost, it depicts an unusual dichotomy of anticipation. Secondly, there is a hint of personification, which is one of my all time favorite of literary devices.
