I wake in pained confusion
more dreams
so it seems
you were here once more by my side
a momentary belief
root cause grief
I rise still somewhat shaken
you again appear
wide eyes clear
it has been so long since you left
heart still aching
love forsaking
should have started recovery at least
know its wrong
love still strong
need my head in gear for work to do
help someone seeks
in your voice speaks
manage a whole ten minutes without a thought
thats so good
future clear as mud
you've said you'll never be back
feeling too blue
to believe its true
I drive home only to see your car
your shade of yellow
only driver a fellow
I sit to eat my meal your face before me
vision never real
heart never heal
try to forget in front of TV
you're not there
just empty chair
the days end, by far the worst for me
not by my side
once again cried
I wake in pained confusion
new day start
for broken heart

Sounds like she puffed the last drag of her cigarette, inhaled with pleasure slowly, bexhaled it in your face taking her time, threw it on the ground, stomped and KEPT twisting her ankle after it was out. OUCH!

Again, emotion displayed brilliantly. Insight like this is rare. ~applause~

Thanks,
Emilie

It's brilliant to see you writing again, David, my Celtic friend ;) Thank you for all you've done for me with your encouragement and all. This poem is only one of many to stand out amongst the crowded poetry. Marvelous!
