I read slowly
Each painful word
From your mouth
As if was heard
It’s all over
Nothing left
No future
Even hope bereft
What cure
An empty heart
Only from
This life depart
I do not seek
The hood and scythe
Just want out
This hopeless life
No step toward
Grim Reaper Man
Tempting maybe
But not my plan
Though tomorrow
To draw last breath
With open arms
I welcome Death

Indeed very chilling. A heart abused one too many times is what it sounds like to me. Very shattering words. Bottom of the pit words...an SOS. Wow David, I am awed.

Thanks,
Emilie

Chilling . . . but we all have such moments when goodness, happiness, seems very far away. They pass . . . everything does :).

Eeeh, goose skin is quite the word to use! A darkness has fallen upon the eyes of a soul is what I perceived from this poem (not talking about you but the narrator). Most excellant.
